Things To Do in Spring, Summer & Fall in Cle Elum

Get on the water!

There is no shortage of things to do in Cle Elum. During the warmer months, enjoy some of the beautiful bodies of water that are around Cle Elum. Spend the day on Speelyi Beach on the shores of Lake Cle Elum. Take a small trip up to Cooper River and hike up to where the river turns into a small swimming hole and enjoy a secluded swimming day in the forest. Visit Yakima River for a water adventure with some river rafting. 

Fishing

If you are a fisher, there are plenty of water activities for you as well. Try your hand at Fly Fishing in Yakima or Methow River. If you would like to have a guide to find the best spots or to show you how to fly fish, there are plenty of guides available to help you out.

Other Warm Weather Activities

Hiking, Parks, & Exploring

If lakes and rivers are not your thing, there are plenty of dry activities that you can do over the summer months of Cle Elum. There is a wide variety of hiking trails available. You can even take some time to just relax in the sun at Battista Park. ATVs and SidexSides are available for rent for you to take on Mount Stewart to explore the wildlife and see the breathtaking views.  There are also guided tours available for those who are not comfortable venturing the trails on their own.

 
Golfing

Cle Elum is a golfers paradise. Our beautiful golf courses are set among the mountains to provide the most relaxing golfing getaway. Some of the must-visit courses include the Prospector and Rope Rider golf courses both located at the Suncadia Resort. Other golf courses in the area include the Sun Country Golf Course and the Tumble Creek Golf Course. Plus, for even more fun you can try your hand at the Cle Elum disc golf course! The course is BYOF — Bring Your Own Frisbee.

Things To Do in Winter in Cle Elum

Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowshoeing & More

While Summertime has a lot of activities and adventures, so does wintertime. There is no shortage of things that can be done in the mountains and snow. Visit The Summit at Snoqualmie to take on a full adventure. They offer ski and snowboarding paths, Nordic skiing trails, snow tubing, and snowshoeing. If you don’t want to bring your equipment with you, they have some available for rent. They also offer daily lessons if you don’t know how to ski or snowboard and would like to learn.

 

Outside of The Summit, there are cross-country skiing trails that are open to the public. Depending on what trail you choose, you will have to share the trail with Snowshoers and snowmobilers. If you would like to snowmobile one of these trails, there are a variety of rental equipment retailers in Cle Elum.

Of course, Cle Elum would not be the town it is today without all the local vendors that are here year-round. We have some of the best restaurants serving anything from Italian to American to Japanese-style foods. We do have some quaint little grocery stores scattered across Cle Elum that are sure to fill your taste for locally sourced ingredients. We also have a variety of wineries, breweries, and distilleries across town that will serve you the best local brews.
